Christmas

Grandma and Grandpa Olson came over and watched Sam on the 23rd while mommy and daddy ducked out to spend some time with some friends before Christmas. We had dinner and drinks with a couple of friends and then went and checked out the new casino. We were home by 9:30PM but that was the longest I had been away from my little man. I knew he was in good hands though.

Christmas Eve we went to church and had dinner with G&G. We had brunch on Christmas and opened gifts! Sam actually was pretty cute as he seemed to respond to his gifts. He received a piggy bank and a lil' rattle which he seemed to like a lot.

On Christmas Day Ron, Jodi, Josh and Ty came in. We just hung out last night together and today the boys went and hit some golfballs in preparation for tomorrows golf outing. We also went out and walked around ASU a little bit. We are introducing Sam into possible colleges early!

Hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas! We got the best present of all this year - what a miracle a baby is!

Sam and I are going to run a couple errands but wanted to let you know what we did this weekend.

We really enjoyed our weekend. Quinn, Lucia and Penny came over for "happy hour". My oh my have those changed from what they used to be. So much fun to unwind a little bit and like I've said before - it's awesome going through this with someone else as it is a major life change! Saturday we ventured out with the man to a restaurant for our friend's 30th birthday celebration. Sam loved the noisy atmosphere as he slept right through the party - he woke up to ate briefly and went right back down. Sunday we ran to the mall with Sam and got some new sneakers. My jeans don't fit yet so I thought maybe if we had some new shoes it will motivate me to work out a little harder. =) We also had to get Sam some new socks - his don't fit anymore!!! He has out grown so many things already. Some clothes he never even got into. We are done with newborn and 0-3 months. 3 months fit perfectly!!

Hope everyone enjoys this week with their families and friends!

Hello....
We have had a busy weekend with Chad's family in town. Chris, Michele and Logan came to visit us from Minneapolis. Sam is Logan's only cousin and it was their first time meeting eachother. Logan was such a sweetheart with "baby Sam". It was good to see him again - we had not seen him since last Christmas. He's changed so much and is talking now... Here are some pics from the weekend.

Too Cute..

Just had to share this photo - we were getting dressed today and decided to put on some pants which we think were hand me downs from Sam's cousin, Logan (he's coming today) and the sweater that the Murphy's mom made for him. It's adorable and I'm afraid he's going to grow right out of it!

Hi all -
Sorry I have not been able to post as often as I once was. Sam is awake so much more during the day. It's fun to watch him yet hard to get anything else done. I'm not worried about the little stuff though as this time goes by way too fast and I'm just trying to enjoy it. If I get a shower in - GREAT... if not, it can wait! We had a few visitors over the last week or so. My parents left on Thursday of last week - My cousin, Bron, came over on Friday, Laura and Adam on Saturday and a small Watertown gang came on Sunday and watched football. We had Holly, Pete and Joey (2 1/2 years old), TJ, Erica and Ty(4 months old), and Josh and Jenna over. Tuesday of this week we had little Penny and her mommy over and "Bites" and his/her mommy over for a little play date. Not much playing went on - mommy's just chatted about our experiences and Laura got to see what life was like when the baby actually arrives.

Today Aunt Michele and fam are coming in to spend the weekend with us. Can't wait to get the two little cousin's together. It's been nearly a year since we have seen our nephew and can't wait!

One month old....

Sam is a month old today! We went to the one month check up and he is 11 lbs and 22 inches long! He is changing so much everyday - it is so much fun to watch him - I do it for hours and hours. He is awake a lot more during the day which is great!

We have had a very relaxing week with G&G Stadheim here. They have been lots of help with Sam. Grandma even babysat on Saturday night while mommy and daddy went over to the Murphy's annual Thanksgiving weekend gathering. We were only gone for a couple hours but it was fun for us to go out together. Some friends came over to our house later that evening to meet Sam. Emily and Devin had not met him yet.

We made another trip out to Gold Canyon to watch Grandpa Olson play softball. They won both games - although we only made it to the last one. We saw Grandpa hit a double! We stayed out in Gold Canyon for lunch.

We are all decorated for Christmas and Chad put the lights on the front of the house tonight! This weekend we will be chillin' at home. We are excited for Aunt Michele, Uncle Chris and Logan to come next weekend!

We have a lot to be thankful for....

Today was a great Thanksgiving with our families. Both sets of grandparents and us all went over to my aunt and uncle's house (Bob and Myrna's). Chad, Suzie, Abby, Bron and Brett were all there and it was a great day. Lil' Abby stole everyone's hearts today - we even celebrated her 2nd birthday. She is such a sweetheart - we wish they lived closer as she would be a great role model for Sam. She was very interested in "baby Sam" except when her mommy was holding him. = )

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. Sam pretty much slept through the day EXCEPT while we all sat down for dinner. It wasn't the first time and it certainly won't be the last. He just wanted to sit up at the adult table like everyone else!
