We have a lot to be thankful for....

Today was a great Thanksgiving with our families. Both sets of grandparents and us all went over to my aunt and uncle's house (Bob and Myrna's). Chad, Suzie, Abby, Bron and Brett were all there and it was a great day. Lil' Abby stole everyone's hearts today - we even celebrated her 2nd birthday. She is such a sweetheart - we wish they lived closer as she would be a great role model for Sam. She was very interested in "baby Sam" except when her mommy was holding him. = )

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. Sam pretty much slept through the day EXCEPT while we all sat down for dinner. It wasn't the first time and it certainly won't be the last. He just wanted to sit up at the adult table like everyone else!

All by ourselves....

Yesterday Daddy went back to work and we missed him lots! We had a bit of a rough morning... I wasn't quite sure how to make the little fellow happy. Keep feeding him I guess! He sleeps so well at night that he is HUNGRY in the mornings! I start feeding and then an hour and a half later - we do it again and again! We we were back on schedule by 11AM and the rest of the day went by great. Mommy was even able to go for a walk with the dogs and Sam!

Last night, my cousin, Bron, came over for a visit and ate with us. It was his first time meeting Sam.

Today has been a good day so far - G&G Stadheim come in tonight which will be fun. Grandpa has not met his grandson yet!

Another weekend...

I can't believe that three weeks ago at this time I was still pregnant with this little punkin'!

We had a great weekend so far.... on Friday, Holly Gunderson, came over to meet Sam. She
made him a cute little tie dyed onesie that says...'SAM I AM' on it... its adorable!

On Saturday, we all went out to Grandma and Grandpa Olson's house! We had a great time and some of their friends stopped by to see the little one as well. Chad and I took their bikes for a spin which was enjoyable while G&G babysat. Our first day trip was a success!! We love G&G new 5th wheel!!

It's pretty obvious what we are doing today - it's Sunday. Sam has been a lucky charm for the Cowboys so far! Let's hope they can keep it up!

This week we are looking forward to G&G Stadheim coming & seeing all the family on Thanksgiving which is also Grandma Olson's birthday!

Nothing new - just enjoying the time

Daddy decided to stay home with us for the rest of the week. He has been a huge help with everything and just is really enjoying being home as a family we decided it was worth it!! We have just been hanging out the last couple of days which has been really nice. Just wanted to update some photos for the long distance relatives...

I had my first play date....

Today Sam went and met his new friend, Penelope Quinn. She was born just a week after Sam to our good friends, Lucia and Quinn. We plan on spending a lot of time with those guys as we are the first of that group to start families. Soon we will have another little playmate - we call him/her Bites for Baby Iten. That is Laura and Adam's baby who is due in March.

Lucia and I found out we were expecting on the same day which was so exciting for both of us. It was great having a friend to go through pregnancy with.

Penny is a precious little girl. She seemed so small compared to our son. We enjoyed lunch together and it was so nice to finally meet her.

Two weeks old...

Hi everybody -
We went to the doctor today and Sam had gained 14 oz!!! We were thrilled and so was the doctor. He is now 9 lbs 4 oz. She told us to keep on doing what we are doing - we are making her job really easy! Today his umbilical cord fell off too! Everybody took a nap today - that was the first time we all crashed at the same time. It was also the first day with no company! We must have needed the extra zzzz's.

Feeling kinda Sunday....

Hi to all -

Well it was Sam's first Cowboy's game. He slept through most of the first half. He doesn't even move when daddy cheers or yells at the Cowboys!

We had a great weekend. At lunch on Friday - mommy and daddy's friend's, Jiffy, came over with lunch for us. On Friday night a bunch of friends came over to meet Sam. Brian and Amy, Laura and Adam, Brian and Ronda, Suzi and Josh, Meulie, Brett, Deanna and John and Christi all came by for the meet and greet. Sam was held all night which he loved.

Saturday, G&G Olson came over and spent the night. They made us dinner and breakfast which was a real treat. Chad and I ran to Target for a bit while they babysat for about an hour. First time leaving the kiddo was hard - but we knew that he was in good hands.

Sunday ----- ah the day of football and lounging around. We pretty much stayed in all day. We got to watch the Cowboy's first win. Sam was a little good luckcharm for them! I did get out to take the dogs for a walk. We can't forget about them... they are doing so well with the new addition. Buster adores him!

Tomorrow we go back to Sam's doctor and then on Tuesday I go to my checkup. Daddy has to go back to work on Thursday. We'll miss him lots - but it has been awesome having him home for the last two weeks.

Just hanging out....

Just wanted to share a couple more pics from that last two days. We have been just hanging out together as a family. Yesterday we had our first outing to Target together which went really well and today we just started the day out with another walk. Mom and Dad are doing great as he has let us sleep quite a bit. Tuesday night he slept for 6 hrs followed by another 3 after a quick bite to eat and last night he slept for 5 hours and then he ate and let us sleep for another 4. It's great.... we know.... we are lucky. Chad and I stare at him for hours at a time and are so thankful for this healthy, happy, beautiful baby boy!

It's been a great week...

From Sam...

Well, I made it through my first week and my mom and dad are so proud of me. I keep hearing them say what a great baby I am.

My grandma and grandpa Olson came over on Sunday to visit me. Dad, Grandpa and I watched football all day. I hear that is the first of many Sunday's to come. I am so glad they are spending the winter out here. We'll have lots of fun together. I went to my Dr. yesterday. She was a really nice doctor and was very pleased with my progress. It was kind of fun getting out of the house. I like riding in the car. I had put on all the weight that I had lost over the weekend. I'm filling out again which is good. We had to start supplementing a little bit because I have such a big appetite! I have barely fussed since my mom and dad figured out this new schedule. They are really catching onto things and I think they really like being my parents. My dogs are cool with me now too. Buster really thinks I'm special and does his best to watch out for me.

Today I was really sad when my Grandma left to go back to South Dakota. I loved having her be here to spend time with me when I was born. She really helped my mom and dad out too. She'll be back in two weeks though and I am already looking forward to it. Today my whole family went for a walk and met tons of neighbors. It was a beautiful Arizona afternoon and I enjoyed the fresh air. I'm beat now...
